Easily Making a Million in Runescape

The game is running smoothly, you've caught onto the basic idea of everything. However the current method you're using to make money isn't the one you're looking for. This part of the guide will introduce other methods that are available to you.

This is aimed for users who have gone beyond level 3, and prefer an alternate strategy to make a million gold. However, despite their still fairly low status, has limited options available to them, which they may not be aware of.

Cowhide (Untanned + Tanned)

Overview

A cowhide refers to the item that is dropped by a cow upon death, it is used widely in the crafting community, to produce leather or hard leather. This material is also a very abundant and readily available to users who haven't spent too much time exploring or moving around the map. You will need atleast 1k to start doing this method, preferably more depending on how much money you want to make. (To pay for gate toll and tanning hides)

How to get there

Walk from lumbridge castle, until you go to cows. (This is across the bridge from lumbridge castle, and is between Varrock and Al Kharid). These cows are close to Al Kharid bank, and provide fast trips back and forth.

The Process

So you've arrived at the farm with cows, bring your gear (weapon + armour) and maybe even food(optional, as you can kill cows for beef). Begin by attacking a cow, this may also be difficult for lower levels, however I promise it'll become easier as you level.

Once the cow dies, loot the cowhide and repeat. As you are killing, you may also notice that other players do not need or forget to loot their cowhide. When there are a limited amount of cows to go around and you find yourself waiting for them to re-spawn, take this opportunity to go around and pick up the hide's of other players.

When your inventory fills up (as these items do not stack like feathers), head towards Alkharid bank. Bank your newly acquired cowhide. After doing so, return to the cow farm, and repeat the process.

Extension

After you have stored up on your cow hides, you may choose to invest a little money, by tanning the hides. This is VERY recommended, as it is quick and turns 115gp into 165gp. The tanning turns the cowhides into leather, a much more profitable item. This option is available for all users, in Alkarid (see map above) for the price of 1 gp for regular leather and 3gp for hard leather.

The Money

Your stash of cowhides or leathers can be easily sold in the Grand Exchange. By selecting the 'Withdraw as a note' feature, you can pick up and hold all the cowhide's you have in one go and sell them.

Price of 1 cowhide = 111gp - 122 gp

Price of 1 leather = 151gp - 166gp

Price of 1 Hard Leather = 153gp -170gp

Break Down

Selling 8621 Cowhides at 116 gp each = 1 Million gp

Selling 6451 Leathers at 155 gp each = 1 Million gp

Selling 6250 Hard Leathers at 160 each = 1 Million gp.

$$ Maximum Cash $$

Go with the leathers, sell at max price 166 gp each. You'll spend few grand on tanning them, but they will sell for a lot more.

$$ My Advice $$

Go the extra length, tan all your leathers to hard leathers in Al Karid, sell them all for 155-157 each, they should go instantaneously.

Try selling it at varying prices, to make the most money out of your stock, at the same time cashing out quickly.

The Benefits

Pros

- Simple and requires minimal movement

- Very good for training combat stats

- Very accessible and practical for early levels

- Can be used for training crafting for yourself.

- Close to beginning area

Cons

- Extremely repetitive

- Less practical for higher levels

- Does not train any skill besides combat

- Time consuming.
